Recently, Nanjing BenQ Hospital officially launched its Palliative Medicine Department's Hospice Care Unit.
This unit is the largest independent ward in Nanjing's tertiary medical institutions, offering the most beds for end-of-life care. It primarily admits patients with a life expectancy of 3-6 months, up to one year, providing physical, psychological, and spiritual care to ensure a comfortable and dignified end of life.
Located on the 5th floor of the hospital at 71 Hexi Street, Jianye District, the unit has 46 beds, with 26 beds in the first phase and 20 beds in the second phase (not yet operational). The ward includes single and double rooms, each equipped with home-like amenities and comprehensive medical equipment.
The facility also features multi-functional rooms, a conversation room, and a sky garden for patient and family support.
Nanjing BenQ Hospital has been a pioneer in hospice care since becoming a pilot institution in 2019 and establishing a palliative care department in 2020. The newly established hospice ward will continue to leverage multidisciplinary expertise to provide specialized, compassionate care for terminally ill patients and their families.
Recently, a major event focused on smart projects and the unveiling of application scenarios was held in Jianye District. Over ten high-quality digital economy enterprises, represented by Nanjing Zhongruan International and Shengzhi Yilian, have settled in Nanjing Smart City. Simultaneously, more than ten digital application scenarios were also released.
With this development, Nanjing Smart City, the largest and most advanced digital economic industrial park in the main urban area, has attracted over 20 leading digital economy enterprises within just half a year of its opening. Targeting "data+", Nanjing Smart City, led by "data+AI," is rapidly rising in Jianye District.
"At the event for the centralized signing of major smart projects and the release of application scenarios, we were impressed by Jianye District's digital economy industry and excellent business environment when selecting our regional headquarters," said Ren Yazhou, Vice President of Shengzhi Yilian, one of the newly signed digital companies. He expressed the desire to root themselves in Jianye, deepen the "data+AI" track, and propel the company to new heights of development.
The digital economy is not only a key increment for high-quality development but also the primary battlefield for cultivating new productive forces. Jianye, as the core area for Nanjing's creation of a "leading digital economy city," has focused on the dominant "digital+finance" industry in recent years. By attracting a group of leading enterprises and major projects, the district has accelerated the layout of the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain, promoting the strong, supplementary, and extended development of the digital economy industrial chain.
Currently, Jianye has gathered over 1,800 digital economy enterprises, with leading companies such as Huawei, Alibaba, and Xiaomi landing successively. This has formed an innovative entrepreneurship matrix where leading companies lead, specialized new "unicorns" race, and technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises cluster, spawning multiple billion-dollar industrial clusters.
Last year, Jianye selected the High-tech Zone to create Nanjing Smart City, the largest and most advanced digital economic industrial park in the main urban area. Covering an area of about 218 acres, the park has a total construction area of about 1.13 million square meters, comprising 19 buildings. It focuses on attracting leading enterprises in the digital economy industry and developing characteristic industrial clusters such as platform economy, artificial intelligence, smart cities, and financial technology.
Within less than half a year since its opening, many central enterprises, provincial state-owned enterprises, and industry leaders like Huawei (Nanjing) Developer Innovation Center, Zhongruan International's Honglian Joint Creation and Innovation Platform, and the Hengsheng-Huawei AI Innovation Lab have settled in and started operations. The Provincial Medical Insurance Bureau's Big Data Empowerment Laboratory is also set to be put into use.
Riding the wave of digitization and empowering with data, digital economy enterprises are accelerating their aggregation in Nanjing Smart City. The emergence of the "highland of digital economy" is quietly taking shape.
Leading cybersecurity company Deepnet Security Technology Co., Ltd. settled in Nanjing Smart City earlier and is currently actively constructing its regional research and development center.
From the initial encounter at the Jinjiang Investment and Trade Fair to the project signing and settling in Jianye High-tech Zone, Deepnet Security took less than two months. "The professionalism of the relevant government departments really impressed us," said Xue Shanshan, Vice President of Strategic Cooperation at Deepnet Security Technology Co., Ltd. For digital economy enterprises, what they need most is not rent reduction but support for open application scenarios and a conducive development ecosystem.
After settling in Jianye High-tech Zone, the company quickly opened up the market situation through government-enterprise cooperation to create a digital economy escort platform. By providing digital consumption subsidies to enterprises and other means, it has served more than 30 regional companies with a contract value of over tens of millions of yuan, indirectly driving the added value of the digital economy to nearly 100 million yuan.
The construction of digital application scenarios is not only an important driving force for the development of the digital economy but also a crucial means to promote the deep integration of the digital economy with the real economy.
In recent years, Jianye District has focused on key areas and links of the industrial chain and innovation chain to carry out the action of "leading the way with digital economy application scenarios." This has promoted the opening of city-level markets such as digital finance, smart cities, social governance, and ecological environment, and introduced competitive special policies to promote docking between supply and demand at both ends.
According to statistics, Jianye has released a total of 366 application scenarios in the past three years, with a total investment of 5.491 billion yuan and 1,067 open cooperation demands. The number of "benchmark scenarios" and "quality scenarios" selected in the city ranks first, promoting cooperation between many enterprises in the district, such as Xingye Huijie with Huatai Securities and Xin Net Vision with Hanwei Research Institute.
In the first quarter of this year, the district once again opened 30 application scenarios, covering fields such as software and information services, metaverse, aerospace, with a total investment of 380 million yuan and 88 open cooperation demands.
"In terms of technology, the urban Hongmeng system can provide full-stack services such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, big data, and Hongmeng; in terms of industry, we have invited core partners of the ecological circle such as Zhongruan International and Lanqing Group to settle in and serve Jianye enterprises nearby," said Zhao Pan, General Manager of Huawei Jiangsu Urban Cloud, throwing an "olive branch" at the event, inviting more enterprises and partners to settle in Jianye and Nanjing Smart City and join the Jianye circle and Huawei circle.
"Adhering to demand traction, focusing on key industries and fields, we will continue to guide a wide range of business entities to enrich data application scenarios, explore high-value data element application scenarios, fully demonstrate the 'multiplier effect' of data elements, and help enterprises 'move forward with intelligence,'" said Tao Wenfang, Deputy Director of Jianye High-tech Zone Management Committee.
Weaving "digital wings" and creating Nanjing Smart City, what are Jianye's first-mover advantages?
Yuan Ting, Deputy District Chief of Jianye and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Jianye High-tech Zone, introduced that Jianye focuses on the "data element X" empowerment value in the direction of the industry, and has formed six major advantageous tracks: financial technology, data computing power, smart transportation and logistics, digital energy, digital entertainment, and low-altitude economy. Focusing on optimizing the business environment, more powerful support will also be provided in terms of finance, application scenarios, industrial policies, and innovation ecology.
Entering the first floor of Building C4 of Nanjing Smart City, the JinYuZui Financial Technology Industry Ecological Center catches the eye. This is a dedicated carrier for the development of financial technology industry, integrating functions such as experimentation, incubation, services, exchanges, and trials. Currently, it has attracted a batch of companies listed in the KPMG Financial Technology List to settle in, jointly accelerating digital economic development "at home."
To better serve enterprises conveniently and accurately, Jianye District innovates institutional mechanisms, optimizes the business environment, leverages the advantage of financial resource aggregation in its jurisdiction to empower the real economy, and builds the "JinYuZ
