The Jiangsu Low-Altitude Meteorology Joint Innovation Studio was officially inaugurated at the Jiangsu Low-Altitude Flight Service Center in Sino-Singapore Nanjing Eco-Tech Island, marking a new stage for data-driven drone services.
Jointly established by Jiangsu Aviation Industry Group and the Provincial Meteorological Observatory, the studio integrates technology, management, and digital applications. It offers 35 core micro-scale meteorology monitoring and early-warning products, powered by an “AI + Meteorology” 3D big data platform, delivering minute-level, 100-meter precision forecasts. The system supports multiple scenarios, including drone logistics and emergency response, and features a full-chain service model from flight planning to post-operation evaluation.
Its flagship project, Micro-Scale 3D Meteorology for Low-Altitude Flight, advanced to the provincial finals of the 2025 “Data Elements ×” competition, demonstrating Jiangsu’s capability to align meteorology with low-altitude operational needs. The initiative strengthens safety, efficiency, and ecosystem development for Jiangsu’s growing drone economy, with Jianye District leading as a national hub for data-driven and AI-enabled industrial innovation.

Nanjing today hosted a Brain–Computer Interface (BCI) Industry Development Conference, highlighting rapid progress in a field once confined to science fiction. Breakthroughs now allow paralyzed patients to control robotic arms or input text using neural signals, bringing BCI technologies closer to real-world application.
At the event, China’s first domestically developed invasive deep-brain electrophysiology recording and stimulation device, Mingtong, created by a Nanjing-based company, was unveiled alongside several other major research achievements. Authorities also released a draft of the Nanjing Action Plan for Accelerating BCI Innovation (2025–2030) and launched the Jiangsu Provincial BCI Common Innovation and Industrial Service Platform.
Two major research institutes—the Nanjing University BCI Research Institute and the Jiangsu Brain–Computer Interface Research Institute—were officially inaugurated. In addition, the Nanjing BCI Innovation Consortium was established, and multiple industry projects were signed.
BCI technology, a key focus under China’s national brain science strategy, integrates neuroscience, artificial intelligence, electronics, and advanced materials. Nanjing is accelerating commercialization by building research platforms, streamlining ethical review for clinical trials, and opening application scenarios in healthcare, special education, and “brain-controlled” technologies such as exoskeletons and robotics.
The city is also launching a full-chain “companion support program” to guide BCI projects from research and clinical validation through regulatory approval and market entry. With coordinated support from government, universities, hospitals, and investors, Nanjing aims to position itself as a leading national hub for brain–computer interface innovation and industrial development.

A drone-based high-rise cleaning demonstration held recently at Golden Eagle World drew wide attention, showcasing how low-altitude technologies are transforming urban services. The landmark’s three-tower integrated structure has long posed challenges for traditional manual cleaning, making it an ideal test case for drone solutions.
At an altitude of nearly 90 meters, two drones equipped with high-pressure spraying systems carried out precise glass curtain wall cleaning. The operation was jointly supported by the Jianye District Urban Management Bureau, Nanyuan Subdistrict, and the property management team, ensuring on-site safety and order throughout the process.
Compared with conventional manual cleaning—which involves higher safety risks, lower efficiency, and limited accessibility—drone-based cleaning enables automated, intelligent, and safer operations, significantly improving efficiency while reducing risks associated with high-altitude work.
One of the participating companies, Maiyouwell Technology (Nanjing) Co., Ltd., is a fast-growing low-altitude economy enterprise cultivated in Jianye District. Founded in 2021, the company has developed proprietary dual-tether drone technology, extending drone endurance from 30 minutes to up to 24 hours. Its solutions have been commercially deployed in more than ten Chinese cities across scenarios such as communications relay, emergency response, and high-rise cleaning.
Using this project as an example, Jianye District is accelerating the development of a comprehensive low-altitude economy ecosystem. Over the past year, the district has attracted more than 20 enterprises across the full industry chain, while Jiangxinzhou Ecological Sci-Tech Island—Nanjing’s only fully flyable urban area—has emerged as a preferred testing ground for low-altitude innovation, supported by major platforms, new infrastructure, and large-scale industrial projects.

On June 14, the 13th Plenary Session of the 12th CPC Committee of Jianye District, Nanjing, was held, reaffirming the district’s commitment to high-quality development and its role in supporting Jiangsu Province’s broader growth agenda.
The meeting was chaired by the Standing Committee of the District CPC Committee. Jiang Chen, Secretary of the CPC Jianye District Committee and Director of the Hexi New Area Administrative Committee, attended and delivered a keynote address. On May 29, the Healthcare Insurance Industry Trusted Data Space was officially launched at Nanjing Digital Intelligence City, marking a key step in China’s efforts to build secure, high-quality data infrastructure for public governance.
As one of the first major outcomes of trusted data space development, the initiative released eight core application scenarios and 20 high-quality datasets, supporting more precise supervision of healthcare insurance funds and end-to-end governance of medical services. The project provides new momentum for the modernization of healthcare insurance governance in Jiangsu Province.
The initiative follows China’s Action Plan for the Development of Trusted Data Spaces (2024–2028) and is jointly promoted by the National Healthcare Security Administration and the Jiangsu Provincial Government. The Jiangsu Healthcare Insurance Data Empowerment Laboratory, located in Jianye District, has been designated a national demonstration scenario, the only provincial-level pilot in China’s healthcare insurance sector.

The team recently earned the Development Potential Award at the 2024 "Data Element X" National Finals for their project, Digital Application Scenarios for Urban Meteorological Services Demonstration.
This project builds a high-resolution, three-dimensional digital twin system based on comprehensive meteorological data, achieving 92.5% citywide and 100% urban coverage. It integrates directly with platforms like the city’s flood control command center and emergency bureau, proving essential during events such as Typhoon Bebinca.
The team’s innovation extends to five key sectors: road, rail, waterway, low-altitude aviation, and public travel, forming tailored digital platforms that enable rapid response to risks. The system is already deployed in organizations like Nanjing Metro Group and Jiangsu Meteorological Bureau, offering precision support for major events and enhancing urban transportation management.

On October 30, the unveiling and signing ceremony for the China Internet Yangtze River Delta Service Center was held in Jianye District, Nanjing.

Nanjing, September 2024 – The European Enterprise Service Center (Nanjing) was officially launched during the 2024 Fourth Innovation Fair European Business Mission and Industry Cooperation Conference. This center aims to provide a one-stop service platform for European businesses, promoting trade, technological innovation, and cross-cultural exchanges between China and Europe.
Nanjing is Europe’s second-largest foreign investment destination in China, with over 1,100 European projects and investments totaling nearly $110 billion. 2024 4th Innovation Fair: Cross-border Exchange Conference, hosted by Messe Stuttgart, successfully concluded on September 13, 2024, after four dynamic days in Jiangsu Province, covering the cities of Wuxi, Nanjing, and Yancheng.
